JORDAN SCHOOL DISTRICT

We will be accepting new applications for substitutes starting September 20, 2010 through October 5, 2010 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 pm. Applications will only be accepted during this application window. If interested, submit your application to Human Resources at 7387 South Campus View Drive.

All substitutes must complete the application process and attend the New Substitute Orientation on October 13, 2010 at 9:30 a.m.

Applications/fingerprinting are to be completed in the Human Resources Department during the application window.

SPACE IS LIMITED.

The following items must be submitted with the application during the application window. Only those applicants with a completed application, fingerprinting and all items submitted will be accepted.

  • Official transripts or copy of CURRENT Utah Teaching License
  • Voided blank check or deposit slip for direct deposit
  • Original Social Security Card for Payroll
  • Photo ID for work eligibility verification
  • Fingerprinting fee of $45 (Cash or Check)

SUBSTITUTE PAYRATES

REGULAR SUBSTITUTES with at least 90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours of college credit, verified by college transcripts, will be paid at the rate of $82.00 per day.

LICENSED SUBSTITUTES with a current Utah Teaching License will be paid at the rate of $90.00 per day and will be allowed to work long-term assignments. 

RETIRED TEACHER SUBSTITUTES, retired teachers from any Utah School District, will be paid $106.00 per day.

JSD CONTRACT/OFF TRACK SUBSTITUTES will be paid at the rate of $118.00 per day. 

ALL SUBSTITUTES ON LONG TERM TEACHING ASSIGNMENTS, on the tenth consecutive day of a single assignment, the daily rate is increased by $10.00 per day and will be paid retroactive from the first day of the assignment. If you take days off during that assignment you must have at least 10 days on both sides of the break.

Jordan School District pays substitutes half day or full day.  More than four (4) hours constitutes a full day.  Pay periods cover a calendar month, from the 1st through the last day of the month.  Substitutes are paid on the 25th of each month for the preceding month.
